Beryl Smith is a 12th generation descendant of Ralph Blaisdell, an English Puritan who came to America from Bristol, England in August, 1635 on the sailing ship “The Angel Gabriel.”
A fifth-generation Californian, Beryl is the son of an elementary school teacher and a police inspector.
Beryl has had a varied and interesting career. He graduated from Bob Jones University, where he pursued graduate study and taught for six years. His experience there included Shakespearean acting, film, stage, and radio productions.
Beryl also taught public speaking to management personnel at a local community college. He pursued graduate study at the Shakespeare Institute of the University of Bridgeport. While doing graduate study, Beryl served as the founding pastor of the Peoples Bible Church in Greenville, SC.
He sang baritone and recorded with the “King’s Four” quartet. For several years he traveled as an evangelist, Bible conference speaker and also served as an associate evangelist with Jack Van Impe Crusades.
Ordained as a Presbyterian Ruling and Teaching Elder in the PCA, Beryl continues to minister whenever opportunities are opened for his service.
Beryl also developed career opportunities in the field of industrial construction, working as a Quality and Project manager in the areas of nuclear power, petrochemical, hospital, and telecommunications. These experiences broadened his understanding of people, life situations, and provided wonderful opportunities to share his faith.
Beryl and his wife Sue are parents of two married daughters. They make their home in Auburn, CA. Having children and grandchildren close by is a special blessing to them.
Beryl has a great love for studying the Bible and Christian theology. Beryl is a 11th generation descendant of Ralph Blaisdell, an English Puritan who came to America from Bristol, England in August, 1635 on the sailing ship “The Angel Gabriel.” Beryl serves as an Associate Editor of “The Blaisdell Papers,” a journal published twice annually that traces the lives of descendants of Ralph Blaisdell.
Beryl writes and preaches what he considers the only hope of mankind – the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He believes that the only hope for the survival of the American Nation is spiritual revival in the lives of the People of God.
